We will review techniques that make schnitzel and apple strudel Oktoberfest favorites. The objective, as you already have guessed, is to create a crisp exterior with a tender, flavorful interior.
When frying the schnitzel, we will focus on prepping the cutlet, selecting the best skillet temperature and cooking time.
Purchasing, storing and handling the phyllo dough will be the focus of our strudel prep. I will go-slow to show you the best way to fill and roll up the strudel.
As an added feature, there will be a demonstration on making both sauerkraut and a traditional Bavarian whole grain mustard ‘from scratch’. It’s easier than you think!
