Join us for a week of wandering the farmers markets, exploring ancient sites and visiting local producers of the wine, olive oil and goat cheese in magical Provence. We will be staying in two homes linked by a heated swimming pool in the heart of Uzès whose history dates back to Roman times. Our residence gives us immediate access to the center of town: its cobblestone streets, many restaurants, the Place des Herbs and a array of art galleries and artisan shops.
We will make day trips to the Pont du Gard, Nîmes, Arles and Avignon. One day is set aside to experience the meaning of “terroir” as we stop to visit local producers of wine, olive oil and creamy goat cheese. We will cook with these products and market produce with Madelaine during two informal cooking classes back at the house. A visit to the impressive covered market in Avignon followed by a private class in the 19th century kitchen of La Mirande Hotel behind the Palais des Papes is another highlight of our week together.
